Chapter Two Reflection
I created my lesson over chapter 2 using a PowerPoint. I tried to create a lesson that had the following elements: clarity, ease, accurate instructions, and interesting features. Chapter two is about online communities and the elements that make up the community. In addition, the chapter discusses the role of each member. In the PowerPoint, I tried to summarize the key components. I wanted my information to serve as another learning tool to go along with the what we have learned so far. I wanted my discussion questions to be thought provoking and to allow the students to incorporate their background knowledge, course content, and the knowledge they learned while reading chapter two to answer the discussion questions. I was very happy with the discussions. I felt that my questions allowed every student to give in-depth and quality responses. Also I was happy with the number of discussions that were created from each persons post. Many of the topics were elaborated and extended on. As the instructor I posted questions and comments under each discussion questions. Many of the students commented, encouraged, and gave their classmates advice as well. I feel confident that each student met my learning objectives. However, I wish that I could have created some sort of interactive site that could have supported my lesson. For example, I would have liked to have linked a quiz or a survey for the students to take. Overall I was happy with the outcome of my lesson.
